Chad M. Robichaux

Chad M. Robichaux

Founder & President, Mighty Oaks Foundation

Chad Robichaux’s story is an incredible journey of tragedy to triumph. He served his country proudly as a Special Operations Force Recon Marine, served on a JSOC Task Force on 8 deployments to Afghanistan in the War on Terror, and had a successful career as a Pro MMA Champion.

Despite those achievements, Chad faced many hardships. After Afghanistan, Chad was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and his marriage and family life was left in shambles. Through the faithful discipleship of a local Christian man, God redeemed Chad’s life, marriage, and family. After experiencing this life change, Chad and his wife Kathy founded The Mighty Oaks Foundation in order to reach other Veterans, Active Duty Service Members, and their families who are dealing with the same crisis in their lives due to post combat service.

Chad is a widely sought-after public speaker and subject matter expert on PTSD, Military, and Veterans’ issues. He has testified in Veterans’ Court regarding combat trauma and PTSD, wrote a best-selling book on the subject, and has been featured on such media outlets as Fox News, Forbes, Christian Post, and The 700 Club.

In 1976, a local group of Christian visionaries and business leaders wanted to create a public devotion event for their community. Every Good Friday morning since, people have gathered for the Sioux Falls Prayer Breakfast. We hold the event on Good Friday morning to provide a faith-filled springboard for Easter weekend—and beyond. The event now brings more than 1,200 attendees each year and is one of the nation’s largest prayer breakfasts.

Though topics and speakers vary, the mission remains the same:

To present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that inspires and impacts our community.

Leaders from various community segments pray with the audience alongside a featured keynote speaker. Each year’s speaker captivates and motivates others to spiritual growth, challenging everyone present to consider their personal relationship with the risen savior, Jesus Christ.

The Sioux Falls Community is a vibrant community blessed with organizations empowering others to seek and share their faith in Christ. We would like to recognize the following organization and encourage you to learn more about their mission, vision, and contribution to the community.

Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) local chapter in Sioux Falls is a movement of students centered around walking with Christ as they advance the gospel. Found at many local campuses, CRU supports students through their journey toward making and keeping a connection with Jesus Christ and encourages them to share how the Gospel has impacted their lives.

Students sharing the gospel and working together with local churches to connect with students who do not have a relationship with Jesus is their passion. Through training and encouragement, they empower students to share their faith in Christ with a goal of impacting the community, region and ultimately the world.
