Homicide Detective J. Warner Wallace to Speak at Sioux Falls Prayer Breakfast
A key piece of evidence is all it takes to sway a jury and change a verdict.
J. Warner Wallace, a self-proclaimed “angry atheist” for 35 years, devoted his career to the indisputable role of evidence in uncovering truth. From police officer to investigator to cold case homicide detective, Wallace was no stranger to weighing countless facts and eyewitness accounts against each other.
When it came to Christianity, however, the case was closed: he saw no proof of its legitimacy.
That is, until he took a closer look.
“Something about the Gospels struck me as more than mythological storytelling. The Gospels actually appeared to be ancient eyewitness accounts,” said Wallace in his book, Cold-Case Christianity.
The detective’s changed perspective gave him a starting point for an investigation. After examining the Bible as a compilation of falsifiable testimonies from Jesus and his followers, Wallace found the case for Christianity difficult to deny.
Now, he travels the country and has appeared on television and radio shows to present his findings.
The reliability of the Bible, the historicity of Jesus, and the truth of the Christian worldview are all pieces of evidence he now uses to help others become confident Christian case makers.
